was reading an article in Elle Dec titled " Down memory lane" (Elle seems to be the only female local mag that seems to have a bit more intelligent articles...) which was fun to read.
it contrasted the 80's to the Now...ha... how beauty trends change... how it reflects life too...
Art and music movements... or societal thought patterns evolve as a revolution or rebellion of the previous... because people are constantly trying to break boundaries, create new things... the search for the nouveau...
How the 80's was totally HEADY... spacesuits... stark blue eyeshadow, bug perms, vivid make up... as opposed to the gloss, natural, barely-there make up...ha... funny...
how minimalism gave way to 'maximalism'... how too much zen is opposed by deconstructivism...
clean fonts like helvetica reigns...but is countered by 'new' vintage fonts...like 'Romantique'...
how the digital age is countered by 'handwritten' fonts...
Just like the only thing constant is change, relativity is found only with the variations of absolutes I suppose.
Oh well... I wonder what's next?
